Goros

On Thursday the 4th of December, Japanese restaurant Goros opened its doors for the first time.  And it was brilliant.

Nestled in Mary Street in Surry Hills, Goros offers the traditional with the unique, serving up yakatori, karaage and gyoza, alongside sake martinis (dubbed ‘saketinis’) and special negroni.  Open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, Goros is hoping to be the new kid on the block outside of the lockout zone.  So, basically, no 1am lockout times!

My favourite part of Goros was the Japanese game shows, which were constantly playing on two television screens in the bar.  The hilarity of the game shows coupled with the traditional Japanese food and seating made the bar just that extra bit more interesting.

At the launch, guests were treated to gyoza, pork ribs, octopus balls, karaage chicken with wasabi mayo, ox fillet yakatori, chicken thigh yakatori, king oyster mushroom steam buns and mango moochis.  Polaroid photos were snapped and given out with Goros’ logo on it, which was really cute.

Below are just some of the photos from the night.  You can follow Goros on Facebook and Instagram, or physically visit them at 84-86 Mary Street, Surry Hills.
