Last night, I was fortunate enough to be invited to the FLiCKERFEST 2015 launch, held at Bondi Icebergs by SBPR.
With guests such as the stunning Samantha Harris and the new face on Home & Away George Mason in attendance, the launch was very suave and cool. Vodka O martinis, Rosnay wines, Little Creatures craft beer and Phoenix organic soft drinks were among the selection of drinks served, with the food keeping in with the summer feel of the event and venue.
Bronywn Kidd, the FLiCKERFEST festival director, made a speech about how FLiCKERFEST will be taking Australia by storm, with viewings to be held in over 50 venues. Guests at the launch were then shown the trailer for the FLiCKERFEST festival, with Samantha Harris, Rodger Corser and Robyn Nevin. The trailer was a comedic parody of the Bond movies, with Bond arriving at Bondi to deliver a short film for a FLiCKERFEST submission. Guests were then treated to a full FLiCKERFEST comedy called Florence Has Left The Building, starring Jacki Weaver. The film was about an elderly lady in a nursing home trying to bust her way out. With the help of an Elvis impersonator, she finds freedom.
Tickets go on sale December 18th along with the programme. Launch date is set for the 9th of January. For extra information, click here.
